Being a part of the local community is just as important to me as selling a home. That's why I would like to involve you as well in giving back! As a thank you, I donate to a local charity of your choice for every closing. It's incredibly important to me to be an active member of the community, and with your help, I've been able to give back thousands.
These local charities around Oldham County and Kentuckiana are ones we like to shine a light on. In addition to the help and resources they provide to our community, they will certainly welcome any support you can give. Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue is dedicated to homeless companion animals of Oldham and surrounding counties. We feel it is important to integrate education and community involvement as part of the solution to decreasing the number of homeless pets.
A group of 100+ women within Oldham County, Kentucky who come together quarterly to support local non-profit groups by donating $100 each with a goal of $10,000+. Click on the link above to find out how you can participate!
Cedar Lake is the largest private provider of residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the state of Kentucky.

The Coalition for a Healthy Oldham County's vision is to create and sustain a productive community where individuals have the ability to pursue a safe, healthy and independent lifestyle including freedom from substance abuse and opportunities for recreation.
Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
HighPoint Charitable Services is a volunteer driven organization working to bring wholeness to the community. HighPoint exists to meet the needs of children, fragile adults, the elderly, and families. HighPoint helps with resources to reduce the suffering of families caught in the cycle of hunger, poverty, and homelessness.
The Humane Society of Oldham County is a stand alone no-kill animal rescue helping animals and our community in Oldham and surrounding counties. It was founded to help our county run animal shelter build a facility, and once completed turned it's attention to reducing the number of unwanted pets in our area by offering a low cost spay/neuter clinics to the public and other animal rescues, including Oldham County Animal Control.
The primary goal of Oldham County Greenways, in partnership with Oldham County Government, is to provide bike and pedestrian trails with safe and improved accesses. Since Greenways' inception in 1998, these two entities have worked together to secure funding and approval for the Interurban Greenway to connect LaGrange and Pewee Valley.
The Oldham County Historical Society preserves, collects and conveys the history of Oldham County, Kentucky by telling the story of its people and the events that shaped its development, using the objects and artifacts that illustrate and symbolize that history. We provide an environment in which the life of the past is experienced in the present. Through its exhibits, programs, events and activities, it will engage people in a dynamic process of thought, participation, and action.
At Pillar we envision a world in which everyone with a disability has the opportunity for a meaningful life. We focus provide support to people with disabilities by promoting opportunity, choice, and connection to the community.
Second Stride is comprised of horsemen and business professionals who are active in other areas of the racing industry: owners, partnership managers, handicappers, trainers, veterinarians, racetrack executives and not for profit specialists. We are working to improve racing from within, and know from first hand experience how many people may have the desire to retire a horse safely, but at times find that difficult to do. We understand. We have been there, and now are doing what we can, and looking for others who can help by doing what they can.
The Tri-County Community Action Agency is a private non-profit corporation that has been serving the Henry, Oldham, and Trimble counties in Kentucky since 1974. Tri-Community Community Action exists to provide leadership and advocacy; to develop community-based coordinated services and activities designed to enable low-income/disadvantaged persons to gain the necessary skills, education and motivation to become self-sufficient. Yew Dell is an internationally-recognized center of gardening, plants and education, all offered in a stunning site of significant historical importance. Originally the home, gardens and commercial nursery of the late Theodore Klein and his family, Yew Dell now offers the public exceptional display gardens, an ambitious schedule of education programs and community events, ongoing garden plant research, hiking trails and event rental opportunities.
Wesley House strives to be the leading family services community center along the Preston corridor providing early childhood, school-age and adult programs while proactively advocating for policy and systemic change that propels equity for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).
Friend For Life Cancer Support Network helps persons diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones navigate the path through diagnosis, treatment and recovery by pairing them with a trained survivor of a similar experience so they can face cancer with someone who's been there.
Roo’s Wish collects new or like new luggage, duffle bags, stocking stuffers or new blankets for children entering foster care. Their mission is to improve the journey of a foster child any way possible!
Green Hill Therapy in Louisville integrates a variety of traditional therapies in conjunction with hippotherapy and aquatherapy to address sensory-motor learning in children with special needs.
Since 1985, Habitat Louisville has been bringing the community together to build stable homes, strong relationships and healthy neighborhoods. The homeownership program empowers low-income families to invest in themselves and invest in their communities. By providing a hand up, not a hand out, homebuyers can build a path towards financial stability and a brighter future.
Special Olympics is an international program of year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than one million children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports, adapted as necessary to meet the needs of those with special mental and physical limitations.
The Arrow Fund provides veterinary treatment to animals who have been victims of extreme torture, abuse, or neglect. After securing care for these animals their focus extends to holding the abuser responsible for his or her actions. They strive to educate the public regarding the ongoing problem of animal cruelty and advocate strengthening our local, state, and national animal welfare laws.
The mission of Backpacks from Beth is simple: to spread hope into the darkness of addiction and to show love to as many people as possible who are in recovery from addiction. The goal is to encourage as many people as we can to stay the course of recovery so that they may experience freedom & LIFE! This is done by filling and donating as many backpacks full of items like toiletries, a bath towel, washcloth, flip flops, a notebook and day planner, pens, highlighters, and a hand-written note of encouragement every month.
Dare to Care partners with local social service agencies, such as food pantries, shelters and emergency kitchens to distribute food to our community. In the past year, Dare to Care and our partners provided 21.7 million meals to our community. Dare to Care also fights hunger through programs targeting the most vulnerable in our community. These programs include Kids Cafe, School Pantry, Prescriptive Pantry, Mobile Pantry, Cooking Matters, and a variety of targeted initiatives to reach senior citizens.
WHAS Crusade for Children, established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, raises money for agencies, schools and hospitals to better the lives of special needs children. Millions of children have been helped by the Crusade since 1954. The annual Crusade Internet/radio/telethon is held each year on the first full weekend in June and is aired on News Radio 840 WHAS (AM 840), WHAS-TV (Channel 11.1) and worldwide on WHAS11.com. Portions of the broadcast are also seen and heard on a Kentucky statewide network.
Mariposa is an Adult Day Health Center with a unique and exciting program that provides life-enhancing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They integrate individual choice and need with supportive-community based opportunities while offering experiences in the creative arts. Through art, our Friends (participants) are given the opportunity to improve fine and gross motor skills, stimulate intellectual growth, feel connected to a group and accepted by their peers.
Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve is an adventurous wonderland for children of all ages. All year long, we encourage and guide children to explore our 170-acres of rolling woodlands, creeks, waterfalls, 9.5 miles of trails, and open grasslands.
The purpose of the Animus Foundation is to drive awareness of Computer Science and Information Technology domains. The Animus Foundation works to introduce technology and holistically improve the availability and knowledge of technology to local non-profits, schools, libraries, daycare facilities, halfway houses, assisted living facilities, and underprivileged groups/individuals that have limited to no access to technology.
